St. Basil Administrative Assistant

Position Summary: The contract position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Rector. Work is expected to be completed independently, so candidate must have access to personal computer with internet, church desktop is available for printing.

General responsibility: The individual must have a high degree of expertise in computer applications including the Google G-Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets).  You will be required to exercise confidentiality, creativity and sound judgment without close supervision. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Specific Responsibilities:

·         Construct weekly bulletin and publish email distribution

·         Update and maintain the church member list and online directory

·         Manage the church calendar, scheduling events and reserving space as needed

·         Maintain accurate cemetery records and track payment plans

·         Order supplies and equipment as needed

·         Plan and coordinate special events such as the Annual Parish Meeting

·         Assist Rector with annual reports including member giving statements and other required filings

Required Skills and Qualifications

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Proven administrative experience

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent interpersonal skills

·         Proficient in Google Suite of applications, with aptitude to learn new software and systems

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

·         Experience developing creative content/publishing

·         Comfortable handling confidential information

Compensation is $500/month. Amount of time required will depend on individual’s proficiency and time-management skills, there is no required minimum number of hours.
